Özyeğin University Reaccredited with the Zero Waste Certificate

Özyeğin University has once again earned the “Zero Waste Certificate” issued by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, in recognition of its ongoing commitment to sustainable waste management practices. The University was among the first higher education institutions to receive this certification on February 14, 2020, as part of the Ministry’s nationwide “Zero Waste Project.”

Following recent inspections, our University was re-awarded the Zero Waste Certificate on June 11, 2025 for its effective waste management practices across its Çekmeköy campus and student dormitories, including efficient resource use, waste segregation at source, and recycling.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all operational teams and stakeholders, particularly our Sustainability & QHSE and Administrative Services units for their invaluable contributions to this important achievement.

With the continued support of our students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders, we are confident that our waste management systems will continue to grow ever stronger, and set new standards for sustainability.
